We (the Igbo people) are marginalized — Alvan Chinagorom Emerald Ilo

Mr President is a bigoted tribalist that appoints only those with northern nomenclatures and Islamic training. Now, I find reasons why those who call him brainless attack me with steady vigour. Yes, he appoints only competent people from the North. Mr President's benchmark for morality is being Northern and Muslim, strictly the reason why he appoints only Northern Saints! Biafra is the haven! It is only Biafra that can secure the Igbo identity and community! Nigeria is fake, false and fraudulent! Relax, my account is not hacked. I have my mind, spirit and body secured. Who called me inexperienced? I am not a drunk too. I woke up hale and hearty, like every good day.

At this point, the GEJ proponents would have shared this post with an "I told you title" before reading this paragraph while the change proponents must have gone green with pains and curses served in a combo of introspective , "I knew this Igbo boy is fake, fad and

foolish". Smiles, we are like that: coven-driven, impulsive, sensational, and most times godless. I do not think that Nigeria is worse from creation, she is a mind creation and fully a function of our actions! Nigeria do not exist without us. She is defined by our actions, inactions, commissions and omissions. If she is bad, then a majority of the populace is bad. I have not stated that Igbo people and Igbo land are enjoying the polity considering the historical and factual antecedents. Keep this story for another day.

Yesterday, I observed the reality of a competent Igbo life-time clean-sheet holder just appointed the GMD of NNPC. According to the social media miscreants, No! He is not Igbo. Delta people are not Igbo. He is from the South South. Igbo people do not come from South South. If a person says: no thanks, give us more appointments, that is reasonable and I will gladly join the campaign for greater attention from the presidency because we are 100% Nigerians with highly developed manpower base for national roles. Do not flash the pseudo-identities for the miscreants "Wailing Wailers" and "Proudly 5%" near me. While the former is a title for "unreasonable Nigerians", the later is a deliberate creation of the "Wailers" to up their murky campaign of misguiding the gullible.

Well, this is not my problem. The real issue is that Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is Igbo. She is from Delta State, Nigeria. She is South South, yet we called her our own and protected her with every weapon and arsenal at our disposal! I remember that some of us dehumanized Prof Chukwuma Soludo for daring to demystify our sister. Drop that for now. Again, the former President - Goodluck Ebelemi Azikiwe Jonathan 'is' Igbo. He is South South. We defended him and dehumanized others for daring to ask for change. Some of us were titled 'saboteurs', 'Fulanis', 'civil-war rape descendants' and 'efulefu', drop this too. Femi Fani Kayode 'is' Igbo. He is South West. Senator Buruji Kashamu 'is' Igbo. He is South West. Senator Saraki 'is' Igbo. He is North Central. I am not confused, we do not have a single Igbo man from the north. The reason is common. Let us not dwell on that too.

If you are confused or have a vague definition of the Igbo identity, I am not. Before I start, when did we start defining the "Igbo Identity", genealogy, race evolution and history with imaginary lines and geo-political boundaries? In pre-colonial history, Delta, Enugwu, Anambara, Imo, Ebonyi, Abia, Kogi had no effect. Igbo is Igbo! Boundaries show location not identity! If you are not aware, Igbo people are not naturally confused, some miscreants on the social media are up against sensibility. Igbo people are naturally itinerant, peaceful, resourceful, innovative, collaborative, associative, co-operative, assertive, cerebral, hard-working, dogged, daring and self reliant. Keep in mind, "he that engages in hoeing is liable to incidental injuries on the feet". Therefore, mistakes happen.

However, they do not cry victim nor hunt for sympathy. That is another false and acquired/post fetal trait, not an Igbo identity.
In the life and times of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, who ever depicted him as timid, mendicant and confused? Does the Rembrandtesques of the Great Ojukwu reflect timidity? Take a look at the late literary god, Pa Chinualumogu Achebe, does he look like a cry-cry baby? My sister Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is alive, get her photo and tell me whether she begs for recognition? Remember Professor Chike 'Mathematics' Obi and Philip Emeagwali? Look them up and show me traces of timidity. Prof Chukwuma Soludo is here and there, get his details and convince me that he is confused. Prof Dora is dead, remember her today; get her photo and prove to me that she lived a crying life. Igbo men are in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and the innermost parts of the world and Nigeria developing the cities, sourcing for production inputs, yet you think we are collectively a confused sect?

I have read severally that, the only places you cannot find Igbo people are within the bounds of the lifeless environments. It is not our fault, nature made it so. Those who are battling with identity crises keep tainting the Igbo identity and community. Igbo identity is ageless and do not change. Miscreants attempt to change it. Igbo identity do not include divisiveness, hate mongering, denigration of other races, superiority complex, and exclusionism! The Great Zik had friends from every part of Nigeria. I am Igbo, I live it, I know where I come from, and who I am. Do not fall into the hands of the self-interest seeking, "5%" peddling cyber-nomads. If you want to experience the Igbo identity, leave the social media, travel down to the East and let the 'real Igbo' people show you love. Strength lives in diversity. The message of the broom. Do not be deceived. Love your neighbour and neighbourhood.
