Manchester United are clear to sign Pedro but Barcelona will wait until after the European Super Cup clash with Sevilla before releasing him.
United must stump up the £22million release clause to take their summer spending to the £100m mark after the arrivals of Bastian Schweinsteiger,
Memphis Depay, Morgan Schneiderlin and Matteo Darmian.
The signing completes the end of a summer-long chase for United who have agreed to let Angel di Maria move to Paris Saint-Germain for almost £45m.

Di Maria appeared in high spirits as he arrived at the Aspetar - Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital.
The deal represents a £15m loss for the Old Trafford club, but they have filled the attacking void left by the departure of the Argentine with one of Europe's most highly-sought after forwards.
Barca face Roma in the traditional Gamper Trophy match at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night, before next Tuesday's clash with Sevilla.
United will then be clear to make their move, despite boss Luis Enrique's desire to keep him.
Enrique said this week: 'Pedro is a high-level player and as a coach I want him to stay here, but is his decision.
'There will only be exits if someone wants to leave and at the moment we don't have news about this.'
Reports in Spain suggest Pedro is wary of leaving his beloved club as they won't be able to replace him due to the transfer embargo hanging over the Catalan giants until 2016.
However, the winger also know his chances in the first team will be limited as long as Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar are the club's front three.
